Newark's NJCRI Opens Neighborhood Family Care Center

NFC is a Quality, Convenient and Affordable Medical Center Alternative to the emergency room designed for the Uninsured and Underinsured

NEWARK, N.J., Aug. 31, 2009 – Neighborhood Family Care (NFC) is now open to serve the public at its convenient Newark Central Ward location at 393 Central Avenue, at the intersection of 1st Street and Central Avenue. NFC has a pharmacy on the premises and offers convenient, affordable, high quality care provided by board certified, experienced clinicians who treat adults of all ages and children over the age of 2. At a flat fee of $49 per visit, and Adult physicals for $69, NFC is an excellent resource for Newark’s uninsured workfoce and the underinsured. Free parking is available in the adjacent parking lot and commuters can access NFC using the 24 and 44 New Jersey Transit bus lines.

“When you don’t really need an emergency room, but you do need medical attention, the doctors at Neighborhood Family Care are available, no appointment necessary. Our wait times are short with most visits completed within one hour. NFC also provides routine medical care when seeing your regular doctor just isn’t convenient and you need quick, reliable care,” adds Brian McGovern, Executive Director of North Jersey Community Research Initiative.

• ear ache, eye infections, corneal abrasions
• bronchitis, sinus infections, allergies
• skin disorders, rashes, insect bites
• minor lacerations and burns
• strains, sprains, painful conditions
• urinary tract infections

NFC Services include:
• adult physical exams/ pre-employment
• screening exams
• school and camp physicals
• vaccines and immunizations
• blood pressure monitoring
• pregnancy testing
• rapid laboratory testing for urine, strep throat
• flu, glucose, mononucleosis
