“Status Is Everything” Social Marketing Campaign Targets Young African American Gay Men In Newark

NEWARK, N.J., October 27, 2009
– Beginning January 2010 in Newark , African American men who have sex with men will be targeted by an HIV Testing social marketing campaign titled “Status Is Everything” organized by the African American Office of Gay Concerns (AAOGC) of Newark. “Status Is Everything” aims to encourage African American men, particularly young men who have sex with men, to get HIV tested and reduce risky behaviors. Art In The Atrium Opens in Lincoln Park Tomorrow

The Highly Acclaimed Show Kicks Off Newark’s “Open Doors”

Newark, NJ, October 21, 2009 – Art in The Atrium (ATA) opens on Thursday, October 22 and kicks off the 2009 annual “Open Doors” Art Festival. The ATA opening includes an opening reception on Thursday, October 22, and after-party at Brick City Bar and Grill, and concluding on Sunday, October 25, in Newark. Featured works are by Chris Cumberbatch, of Above the Surface Design, located in Long Island, NY, also an ATA exhibiting artist whose focus is on eco-friendly, sustainable products. The showcase, located in the LPCCD “green” building at 460 Washington Street, Newark, is free and open to the public.
