Forum & Candlelight Vigial for Rutgers Freshman Tyler Clement

Newark, N.J., October 1, 2010
Please join the Rutgers Community for a candlelight vigil for Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi, who last week took his own life. At this event, we will discuss the devastating affects of LGBTQ bullying and the tragic loss of LGBTQ Youth to suicide. The event also seeks to provide Rutgers students with a safe space to discuss how Rutgers University and the nation can help stop the injustice LGBTQ individuals face in our society. We hope you will attend, not only to memorialize this devastating loss, but also to engage in a necessary and urgent discussion of what we must do as proud students of Rutgers University to protect our fellow classmates from such despair, and to ensure this tragedy is never again repeated.
